I'm thrilled to be working with 6th Street Playhouse again to direct GEORGE M!. "George who?". George M. Cohan, the man that owned Broadway from 1904 to 1919. Almost forgotten today, Cohan was known as much for his ego and bad temper as for his shows and songs. He was Kanye, Lin Manuel, and Shorenstein-Hays all roled into one.

"Isn't COMPANY dated?” is a question I heard frequently while preparing for this production. My answer? Absolutely not. In our Tinder, Grindr, Bumble society, a musical about why anyone would want to be in a committed relationship is more relevant than ever.

Having just opened PETER AND THE STARCATCHER I can say that PETER was about the most difficult and complicated showsI have ever staged. Fair warning to all taking it on, PETER is a "play with music" to the same extent that WEST SIDE STORY or CHORUS LINE are "musicals with dance".

Very happy to announce that I'll be directing COMPANY for The Novato Theater Company in Spring of 2017! Auditions will be in December 2016, rehearsals beginning in February. I am looking forward to working with NTC again.
