Drood CastThe payoff to THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD is a moment in Act Two, in the 2nd to the last verse of the last song of the show. It lasts for about 15 seconds, and it is well worth it.

On Sunday, October 8 the cast of THE RAINMAKER finished a long tech weekend with our first tech stumble through.  Tired but confident, we went home, ready for the dress rehearsal and preview process that would bring us to opening on Friday, Oct 13.  By Monday morning however, everything had changed.

Heathers 12

HEATHERS, THE MUSICAL is about as much fun as I can remember having on a show and one of the most perfessional companies I've had the pleasure to work with. During tech week the cast starting coming down with fevers and coughs. On opening weekend we only had the entire cast for one performance and every other show had a different combination of understudies and standbys.  And yet every sold-out performance received a standing ovation.  HEATHERS is edgey, uncomfortable, incredibily well written, and fun!

The Rainmaker

I can finally announce that I'll be directing THE RAINMAKER for Sonoma Arts Live in the fall of 2017. This is a play I've been waiting a long time to direct.  I first read it in high school and loved it immediately. The beauty of the language, the desparateness of the situation, the call to see life as it should be and not as it is. THE RAINMAKER is a play for all time.

George M Heathers

COMPANY has opened and I am quite proud of this production (photos coming soon).  The cast and design team have been spot on and the quality of their work brings every performance to life. Now it is time to shift gears for two very different shows, GEORGE M! and HEATHERS.

george mI'm thrilled to be working with 6th Street Playhouse again to direct GEORGE M!.  "George who?".  George M. Cohan, the man that owned Broadway from 1904 to 1919. Almost forgotten today, Cohan was known as much for his ego and bad temper as for his shows and songs. He was Kanye, Lin Manuel, and Shorenstein-Hays all roled into one.
